API, architecture, code, GraphQL, gRPC, Oracle, streaming, subscriptions
Yesterday I was fortunate enough to participate in the Dev Innovation summit part of the World Festival virtual conference.
The presentation took a look at how Streaming APIs offer an alternative to API polling and the considerations needed when adopting streaming.
The presentation is a natural partner to a previous presentation I’ve done about the use of GraphQL and gRPC as alternatives to using straightforward REST to gain more efficiencies.
With this, we’ve provided an Oracle Reference Architecture that illustrates the use of GraphQL in a manner that exploits Kubernetes to enable high levels of scaling the Architectural content is here, and the free source code is here. We’re chipping away at assembling a Terraform template that can be used to deploy the solution directly.
